Standing Committees

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee oversees internal and external communications efforts by SCCAR. Including the technical equipment and data as well as programmatic functions in support of these activities. The Communications Committee also supports external activities, charitable fund raising, and all events organized through the Snohomish County-Camano Association of REALTORS®.

Meetings are the first Tuesday of every month  following the Board of Directors’ monthly meeting, probably starting around 12:45 to 1:00 PM

Government Affairs Committee

Coordinate and promote legislation within Snohomish County recognizing private property rights and the interests of the real estate industry, and to defend against legislation, which is detrimental to property rights and the ability of families to purchase homes.

Meetings are the third Wednesday of every month at 10:00 AM at the SCCAR office in Everett.  February 2023 meeting will be on Wednesday, February 22nd at 10:00 AM at the SCCAR office.

REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC)

Through the association’s REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC), REALTORS® organize themselves for effective political action and support candidates for election to legislative and executive offices. REALTOR® PAC promotes and strives for the improvement of government by encouraging REALTORS® and the public to take a more active and effective part in local politics. REALTOR® PAC encourages voluntary investments in the REALTORS® political fund.

Meetings are held as needed in conjunction with the Government Affairs Committee.

Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Committee

The purpose of this committee is to assure a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the association and industry by developing and promoting strategies, programs, and member engagement. The committee will provide input to the Executive Committee consistent with the SCCAR strategic plan.

Meetings are held at the discretion of the Committee Chair.

Ad-Hoc Committees

Education Committee

The Snohomish County-Camano Association of REALTORS® has established a program of FREE continuing education classes called the Appreciation Series. The purpose of the Education Committee is to develop and administer well-balanced programs which serve the educational needs of the membership. Programs include the appreciation series classes, seminars dealing with the Code of Ethics, fair housing practices, and information promoting REALTOR® designations.

Grievance & Professional Standards Committee

The purpose of the Professional Standards Committee is to enforce the Code of Ethics through the conduct of ethics and arbitration hearings. The Grievance Committee examines complaints and determines if the complaint has sufficient substance to merit a hearing. Members must complete a one-day training to be eligible for appointment to either committee.
